We are proud to be a part of the Ideal Homes Show once again
We have some stunning looks from our involvement in this years Ideal Homes Show
When it comes to home decoration, the Ideal Home Show is one of the largest events in the UK, offering homeowners the latest on-trend inspiration and DIY advice. Hosted at Kensington Olympia in London, the show opens its doors to around 238,000 visitors each year and as the Interiors Sponsor for 2018, we were proud to be a part of the event.
As anyone who has visited the show will attest, the front-of-house display has always been an eye-catching and playful taster of what’s inside the show. Sponsoring this year’s display, our giant mirrored Crown paint pots adorned the entrance, reminding us that colour is a major contributor in making any space feel like home.
Inside, Good Homes brought to life six inspirational room-sets showing the latest interiors trends and Crown colours Styled by the talented Kate McPhee and the Good Homes team, each room provided unique and exciting ways to incorporate colour into different rooms of the house. Here we provide a brief preview of each space.
The Botanical Bedroom, with a focus on wellbeing and mindfulness, saw calming greenery interpreted with a gentle horizontal ombre paint effect on the wall. The styling combines beautifully sharp geometric shapes with feminine accessories, creating a botanical oasis.
The Wellness Bathroom was designed with the aim of stirring the senses. For too long, the bathroom has fallen victim to the ‘all white makes it look bigger’ design philosophy, but here the room conveys feelings of calm with a scandi-style sauna, sultry waterproof mural and textured tiling.
The Luxe Dining Room, perfectly combining accents of gold and brass with soft pinks and neutral shades, is elegance personified. With luxury finishes, such as an orchid garland above the dining table, it’s exciting to see how the right colour combinations can carry a whole scheme.
The Living Room is a collection of carefully considered furniture pieces and textures, interwoven by pops of colours to give the whole room a warm and inviting feel. Taking inspiration from Crown’s Linear trend for SS18, the Hi-tech Media Room showcases multifunctional, modular furniture combined with angular lines to create a truly contemporary space.
Last but by no means least, the Dramatic Kitchen set is a more contemporary take on the classic monochrome scheme, which is often associated with kitchen design. By comparison, this space is sleek and full of drama. All-black units are complemented with metallic accents to create a sophisticated and industrial-inspired space. The walls are painted with Crown’s Grey Suede paint, a collection of textured paint that has a matt, suede texture for ultimate sophistication.
Achieving look such as these are often hard to replicate in your own home but, with the right understanding and some colour confidence, anything is possible. It’s often confusing to know where to start or what colours to choose, so Chrissi Baldwin, one of our Crown Colour Consultants, was on hand at the show to offer one-on-one colour consultations for those seeking advice. Using our Pure Paint Samples, Chrissi has been helping homeowners plan schemes that suit their homes and their personalities.
