Re create new Autumn Trends for 2017
Autumn colours that suit different styles of home, these new trends can easily be re created in your home.
Autumn is a time to celebrate the vast array of rich colours that nature has to offer. From warm coppers and browns to more vibrant reds and oranges, nature does not shy away from colour and therefore neither should we.
At Crown, we believe that creating an interiors scheme inspired by nature should begin with picking the right colour for your walls. You may prefer to use more traditional autumnal colours, which would mean basing your palette around the redder, darker brown and orange hues. If you’re opting for these colours, be sure to pair them with lighter accessories so as not to make the room appear smaller and overpowering.
Alternatively, you may wish to go bolder and opt for darker but richer shades of blues and greens to create that ever desirable intimate living space. Given the intensity of these moodier shades, it is often wise to pair them with brightly coloured accessories to lift the room.
As the leaves begin to change, why not bring in a touch of the outdoors inside to complete your scheme? Acers, Cornus and Japanese anemones are three examples of richly coloured flora and fauna that are symbolic of the season.
Crown’s Colour Consultant, Judy Smith, shares her thoughts autumnal-inspired decorating.
“Autumn is defined by warm and bold colours. The change of the season is a great time to think about your own interiors scheme and get playful with colour combinations. Kitchens and living rooms for example, can be updated with something as simple as a coloured splashback, or by re-painting wooden cupboard or drawer fronts. An area of vivid orange or a deep red can really change the dynamics and focus of a room.”
