Crown + QEST in Partnership

To celebrate the Coronation, and having proudly held the Royal Warrant for over seven decades , we’re delighted to launch a new partnership with the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) – a charity of the Royal Warrant Holders Association.

We will be donating 10% of our proceeds from the CRAFTED ™ by Crown range of paints from May-December 2023 to help fund the fantastic work QEST do in supporting the training of aspiring artisans. Read on to learn more about QEST and why we have decided to support this exceptional organisation.

What is QEST?

QEST supports the training and education of talented and aspiring craftspeople through traditional college courses, vocational training, apprenticeships and one-to-one training with a master craftsperson; helping to support Britain’s cultural heritage and sustain vital skills in traditional and contemporary crafts.

QEST provides support to exceptional individuals who display great potential in a range of crafts such as woodworking, metalworking, jewellery making, textile design, ceramics, glass, and musical instrument making. They also offer funding for initiatives and projects that promote the advancement of British craftsmanship.

Over the years, QEST has helped hundreds of talented individuals and funded a wide range of projects, from the restoration of historic buildings and landmarks to the development of new techniques and innovations in traditional crafts. Their goal is to preserve and promote British craftsmanship for future generations.

QEST has a strong emphasis on sustainability and environmentally conscious practices, encouraging the use of local, natural materials. The organisation is supported by patrons including members of the royal family, arts and crafts leaders, and business professionals.

Since 1990, QEST has awarded over £5.2 million to 700 makers across the UK. Almost 90% are still practicing their craft today and many are recognised leaders in their field.

Our Partnership with QEST

Crown’s CRAFTED range was inspired by British artisans working with the highest quality natural materials, and combines this rich culture of creativity with over 200 years of Crown’s paint heritage, so we feel this is a fantastic opportunity to give something back.

Crown understands that supporting the work of craftspeople is essential for preserving cultural heritage and ensuring the continuation of traditional crafts. These skilled individuals possess unique talents and knowledge that have been passed down through generations and are integral to maintaining a sense of identity and tradition in communities around the world.

By partnering with QEST, we hope to provide resources and opportunities for these artists to continue practicing and perfecting their craft. This partnership aligns with Crown’s values of sustainability and ethical production, and we are excited to contribute to an organisation that will have a positive impact on the lives of British craftspeople and the communities in which they reside.
