Crown House, Darwen - Operations Finance Manager

37 hours per week

£42,000 per annum

Reporting to the Operations Controller, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Manager to make a significant impact as business partner to the Operations Teams in driving efficiencies and delivering savings, as we strive to continually improve our operations.

 

You will be an active business partner with Directors and Managers in the operational teams, in this highly business focused role.   You will provide financial support, analysis and guidance to Production, Logistics, Supply Chain and R&D teams, actively challenging financial and business assumptions and plans, acting as a strong sounding board for all finance related decisions.

 

As Finance Manager, you will split your time between manufacturing sites in Darwen and Hull.  You will need to establish a presence at both locations, usually working 2 days per week in each location.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Monthly and ad hoc accurate management information reports and management of month end procedures

  • Provision of finance support service to operations, with line management responsibility for 1 direct report

  • Preparation, analysis and reporting of all financial data relating to Operations

  • Regular reporting to Group of savings achieved through business projects

  • Monthly variance analysis including recoveries, yield and stock. Management of stock take / cycle counting accuracy.

  • Management / reporting of WIP

  • Determination of, analysis and reporting of key drivers for operations

  • Accuracy of product costs in SAP, including BOM’s and recipes.

  • Produce annual budgets and rolling forecasts quarterly.

  • Drive clear understanding of operational performance through regular meetings with operational managers.

     

Qualifications and skills:

  • CIMA or ACCA qualified with minimum 5 years PQE

  • Management accounting / finance management experience

  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment with standard costing principles

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Advanced Excel skills and working experience of SAP or other ERP system

  • Experience of working with BI / BW tools 

  • Experience of effectively resolving problems relating to operational budgeting and forecasting.
